This was... a tricky one to write. I've read stories and captions about overtly racist men who become women of color. I wanted to write a caption about a man who, while not floridly racist, does have the sort of old-fashioned, more subtly problematic views on race that a man like Walter might have, but who is trying to be open-minded.
I wrote this one a long time ago, but I've hesitated to put it up. The discourse around race and racism in the United States these days is... tense.
