Humans of the Great Shift - Nolan

I had this cap half-finished hours ago, but I kept forgetting to actually finish it, lol.

I've deleted my last post.  I've been watching the comments closely since I posted it.  I didn't want to have to step in, but the comments have gotten too toxic.  It was time to shut the discussion down before things got any worse.  I don't mind if people criticize me, but I don't want commenters arguing with each other.  Deleting the post feels heavy-handed, but I can't find a way to disable comments on a single post, so it's the only option I had.

My post was not meant to be political per se; I meant it to be a topical post, along the lines of the lottery caption I made a couple of weeks ago, or the Halloween caps I made, or the diary caps I made talking about the royal wedding over the summer.  I saw something interesting happening in the culture and I was inspired to make a caption about it.  I've always been interested in the idea that someone who was stranded in a woman's body as a result of the Medallion of Zulo or the MAU or some similar device would not have a legal identity, and I saw a chance to explore that idea through a character who wanted to vote but couldn't because he didn't legally exist.  That was all I was going for.  I wasn't trying to make a statement, political or otherwise, and in fact I consciously tried to make my caption nonpartisan.  The idea that voting is a good thing is not and should not be partisan.  I should have known, though, that the political environment is too heated, and that people are too weary of politics, for even a nonpartisan and relatively apolitical caption about the election.

Anyway.  The post is gone.  Let's please move on, shall we?

I wanted to put up a cap today, but I'm too tired.  I'm still taking a medication that's making me super drowsy, and I'm busier than usual with work on top of that.  I'll try to get something up for Wednesday, but I can't make any promises.
